Fighting Spotted Hyenas

Two spotted hyenas tussle over the carcass of a kudu that has been deliberately submerged by the hyena clan in a waterhole at the Addo Elephant National Park, South Africa. Although there is a lot of noise and apparent attacking with wide-open jaws, the hyenas are actually extremely careful with one another with no bites or severe aggression taking place. The clans are well structured with definite orders of ranking and this allows peaceful feeding.
