The marabou stork, although perhaps not the most attractive of birds, is fascinating to watch none the less and it is an excellent scavenger that feeds on anything from the remains of lion kills through to scavenging the rubbish dumps of large cities in Africa. It also has the strange habit of defecating on its legs so that they always appear white in color.
